Emergency help in the event of a death

A doctor issues a death certificate, “Medical Certificate of Death.” This can be done no earlier than 2 hours after the death. In the case of death at an institution or hospital, a doctor is automatically called. In the case of death at home, the relatives must themselves contact the nearest emergency medical service directly. The death certificate must be completed before the deceased can be collected.

Transport of the deceased

In the case of death at an institution or hospital, the deceased is usually brought to the facility’s cooling room the same day or the day after death.

In the case of death at home, we will, in agreement with the relatives, bring the deceased to the nearest chapel of rest or hospital. We are available on our 24-hour emergency phone line.

The planning meeting

Relatives contact us to arrange a planning meeting. They meet with one of our funeral consultants to plan the funeral. The meeting usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. It is also possible to spread the planning over several meetings. Before the planning meeting, it may be wise to reflect a bit on how you want the ceremony to proceed.

Papers and forms

In the event of a death, several public offices must be notified. We make sure to report to these, so you don’t have to spend time and energy on such a process. During the meeting with us, you will receive clear information about which agencies you must notify yourself. We will always be available if you have questions.
